Pillow-Inspired Manicure?

Hey everyone!

Today I have for you some more nail art. Yaaaay!

I asked on Twitter if someone could suggest any nail art ideas for me, and my lovely friend Heather of Let Beauty Blossom told me to do a design inspired by her pillow. I was a little hesitant, but after clicking the photo, I fell in love with the colors and the Moroccan-like design.

Heather's pillow:

So I set out to create this design. I had mostly the right colors (China Glaze Kalahari Kiss would have been nice, but I passed on that one and am going back to buy it!). Here's what I came up with:

I'm sure you can point out the sections that inspired each nail (if you feel like it). Not my most perfect work, but I like it =] Here's what I used:

A dotting tool and nail art brush
Reds: OPI Conquistadorable Color and Bullish on OPI
Oranges: Sally Hansen Sun Kissed and China Glaze Desert Sun
Browns: OPI San Tan-tonio and Essie Little Brown Dress
Gold: A very old Avon Striping Polish
Whitish: Champagne Stripe Rite topped with a no-name sheer white

And my elusive right hand. Thumb to pinky the shades are OPI Conquistadorable Color, Sally Hansen Sun Kissed, China Glaze Desert Sun, OPI CC, and OPI San Tan-tonio. I planned on adding some art to my right hand, but time got away from me and I wanted to get the pictures before the sun set. Besides, I kind of like having an 'accent hand.' Or is that just me making excuses for being lazy?

So that's it for now. Have you ever found inspiration from household items? Special thanks to Heather for the suggestion! Go follow her! And if anyone else has any nail art inspiration for me, please share!

Thanks for reading,

China Glaze Pink Plumeria + Stamping

Hello!

How are you doing today? I'm spending my week volunteering at our Mt. Carmel festival serving sandwiches, so there aren't going to be many posts.

I had to stop in to show you my current manicure, a China Glaze Summer Neon: Pink Plumeria. I debated this one but it looked pretty unique so I got it. I actually need to go back and get Splish Splash and Orange You Hot? because I passed on those and am regretting it. Hopefully I won't be too late!

I started with a base of 2 coats of Pink Plumeria and then stamped it using the flower image on Mash plate m64 twice; the first time I used Essie Shifting Power and the second time I used Barielle Gelt Me to the Party. Neither polish is a good stamping polish since the image never completely transferred either time, but together they create a delicate look.

Oh, and please excuse these pictures. My white balance auto correct turned my hands/everything blue-ish, but the polish color is true to real life.

What do you think? What Summer Neons are your must-haves?

Thanks for reading! Wish me luck out there in the heat!

Zoya Ivanka

Hello!

(Sorry Guys...I definitely posted this, but blogger's been down...you know.)

This is Zoya Ivanka - It was one of my three-free Zoyas along with Charla and Pinta. This color is the absolute PERFECT St. Patrick's day green, so that's what I wore it for =] This is three coats. Ring fingers and thumbs are stamped with a Champagne/gold Stripe Rite and BM plate 03!

What do you think? Sorry for the extreme lateness!

Milani One Coat Glitters

Today I have for you the sought-after Milani One-Coat glitter polishes! =]

YAAAY!

I won four of these glitters in a wonderful giveaway from Erin of Never Enough Nails! =] Check out her blog if you don't know it/love it already. These are the four I won:

So of course, I NEEDED Gems, since I love anything multi-colored (my blog background...) and have been lemming Happy Birthday, and I got the purple to complete my collection. I went to FOUR CVSs trying to find these polishes. At the fourth CVS, I found a handful of the polishes sitting on a shelf, no display or anything, but there was two bottles of Purple Gleam and one of Gems. I got one of each:

GEMS!!!!
Multi-colored glitter of varying sizes. Buying another of these when I see it.

All of these were two coats. Sorry about the one finger swatches, but there are tons more out there and I did not have time to remove all of that glitter. They're really awesome polishes. They're not really just one shade of glitter either; they have varying shades so they're really interesting on the nail.

And no, I didn't forget, here's the last of the Glitter polishes, Red Sparkle. In the last two pictures, it is shown with 2 coats of Out The Door topcoat. My sister is wearing this as a full mani, and it only took the promised one coat to be opaque on her nails. She was excited to be a model:

Yep. Looks like Dorothy's slippers alright. Overall these are really good polishes; 2 thin coats make them perfectly opaque and they dry really fast.

Anyone else have these?

Ulta-Exclusive OPIs - Holiday 2010

Hey everyone!

I'm sure you've seen dozens of swatches of these, but here are mine! The OPI Holi-daze collection:

Plum Full of Cheer:

This is a really interesting color...kind of a muted purple with some gold peaking through. 2 coats.

Gift Of Gold:

I love the texture of this one! Very fine gold glitter with a tiny bit of red thrown in there for good measure. It's a really bright, true yellow-gold without looking brassy. My favorite of the collection. 2 coats.

All The Berry Best:

Not really sure how to describe this one...hence all of the pictures. It's kind of a red/crimson/coral/cinnamon color....yeah. It's a pink-leaning red and you can definitely see some orange. Leaving it at that =P 2 coats as well.

Also included is a mini OPI topcoat...which I've never tried. Overall, I am glad I got this mini set. They're all really pretty holiday colors =] It retails, I think, for 12ish dollars at Ulta, but I got it on sale last week for $7!

What are your thoughts? Is this just another holiday gold, red, and purple to you?

Thanks for reading (as always),
